     I had always been sewing since a young girl (thanks to my creative and very talented mother).   I would do everything from cross-stitching to embellishing vintage wedding gowns my father would buy for me from antique shops. 
     I have a beautiful quilt that my great-grandmother had made me when I was born.  One chilly fall day in 2006, I got the quilt out to snuggle under and watch a good movie.  I took a look at it and thought “I could do that!  That looks like fun!”  So online I went and searched for a local quilting class.  Little did I know that I would become a quilting addict.  So here I am… to learn, to share and to grow as a quilter.  If I can help at least one person to learn something new or to be inspired then the purpose of this site is complete.

     This is my first baby step on this great big quilting road.  I don’t know where it will lead, but as someone very special told me today… I will find my way.

     I am sharing this blog to post updates about my quilting experiences, lessons and projects.  I will be sharing with you any interesting information, sites, videos and photos.  I am also updating the Quilting Calendar to keep you all posted on any quilting shows, conventions, exhibits and retreats.  Soon I will have quilting notions, instructional e-books and original Aura Quilts designs and patterns for purchase through my Aura Quilt Shop.
